When Debra decided to make over her backyard, one thing was certain…it had to be a place full of beauty and imagination for her three-year-old granddaughter, Brianna. Inspired by the overgrown, woodsy look the yard had when they first bought their home, Debra knew that with a little clearing, it would be a perfect retreat.
The family hired a crew to clear some bushes and trees and create winding paths that would lead to the playhouse, fire pit area complete with decorative mantle, dining area, and butterfly garden.
As for the playhouse, it was designed with a whimsical, curved door and window for that storybook look and was actually built adult-size so that the entire family could enjoy it for many years to come.
What an absolutely perfect space that now has me daydreaming of cozy little backyard cottages.

Seriously, though, I love how every little detail is thought out. The color scheme is great, and I love the fireplace outside for parents to hang while the kids have fun playing house!
